Crops ruined worth Rs 860 crores in July floods to farmers of Banaskantha and Patan

Recent Flood of July in Gujarat caused around Rs 860 Crores worth of loss to farmers of Banaskantha and Patan.
Crops ruined in nearly 10.98 lakh hector. 4,333 villages and 17 districts were marred by effect of flood. Rs 456 crores loss of crop to Banaskantha and Rs 163 crores loss to Patan.

Even, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi rushed to Banaskantha and made survey of loss to flood hit Banaskantha. A relief packages of Rs 1,000 crore was announced for flood hit Banaskantha.

Gujarat State admiistration operated its office for 5 days from Banaskantha.

Gujarat Government increase in financial help to flood affected people of Banaskantha

Today Gujarat Government has announced increase in financial aid to flood affected people of Banaskantha district.

It is learnt that for 5 days Gujarat State administration will operate from Banaskantha. A cell has been setup in Banaskantha, which is 24×7 closely monitoring relief and rescue operations carried by Army, BSF, NDRF, SDRF and other teams.

For loss of household articles financial aid raised from Rs 3,800 to Rs 7,000. In case of death of mammals enhanced aid of Rs 40,000 in place of Rs 30,000, to a maximum loss of 3 animals.

Life in Patan and Banaskantha is quickly returning to normal. Government has appealed people to wholeheartedly join the massive operation and help state administration in the event of natural calamity.

Compenstation for loss of clothes and household has been doubled by Gujarat government.
