Today in Ahmedabad, Gujarat High Court issued notices to central, state government and SBI State Bank Of India for recovering excess premium from Farmers.
Congress MLA Harshad Rabadiya had moved High Court over excess premium recovery by government and bank.
HC served notices to government including Junagadh Collector and Junagadh SBI for recovering more premium and interest from farmers towards Crop Insurance.
Crores of rupees were recovered from farmers in Junagadh. As high as Rs 15,000 more was collected from farmer towards premium and interest.
HC notice has sought explanation over recovery of excess premium on crop insurance.
