Today in Surat, PM Narendra Modi inaugurated a state-of-the-art hospital in Patidar-dominated Katargam area.
“While coming here, I was confused whether to speak in Gujarati or Hindi. But the massive work you’ve done. the country should know and see our work,” Modi said while inaugurating the Rs 500 crore Kiran Multi-Speciality Hospital that has been built by a trust whose members are mostly Patels.
“After assuming office, mechanisms were put to bring down prices of medicines even if that meant pharma companies are unhappy with us,” Modi said. He indicated that centre may introduce a legal framework under which doctors will have to prescribe generic medicines that are cheaper than equivalent branded drugs.
PM also inaugurated a diamond manufacturing unit in the city.
