In Ahmedabad, Tata Motors launched its all-new sub-4 metre new stylish sedan, the Tigor, in India. With prices ranging from Rs 4.7 lakhs for the entry-level petrol variant, to Rs 7.09 lakhs for the fully-loaded diesel one, the Tigor is easily the most affordable sedan in India.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Tigor has smoked projector lamps, a 5.0-inch Harman-engineered touchscreen infotainment tech which is paired with an eight-speaker (4 speakers + 4 tweeters) sound system, rear parking camera, automatic climate control and more. The infotainment display acts as the monitor for the reverse camera, supports video playback, has voice command recognition, GPS navigation via NaviMaps App and SMS readout functionality. While the top-spec petrol-powered variant gets 15-inch alloy wheels, its diesel counterpart makes do with the same 14-inch ones as on the Tiago.
Powering the Tigor are the same 3-cylinder petrol and diesel motors as the ones found under the hood of the Tiago. While the 1.2-litre petrol engine generates 85PS/114Nm, the diesel engine puts out 70PS/140Nm. Both the engines come paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Tata Motors claim that while the petrol motor returns a mileage of 20.3kmpl, the diesel is good for 24.7kmpl. The Tigor competes with other contemporary compact sedans.
