Today in Dhari taluka of Gujarat, Dhandhanesh evacuated due to scarcity of water and fodder. About 300 cattle rearers in Dhandhanesh of Sasan Gir migrate to other places.
Cattle rearer of Dhari feed cattle and servive on selling milk to nearby areas. Water reservoirs in Gir have dried out. There is a water tank of 25,000 litre capacity which is empty. There is lot of fodder in Sasan Gir but due to restriction of movement in the area. Fodder cannot be given to cattle. If any cattle rearer enters restricted area , he is penalised by forest authorities.
Cattle rearer are in helpless situation and want to protect their cattle and means of survival.
