On 23 September, Central government issued an order cancelling the appointment of Gujarat cadre IPS (GJ-79) DGP PC Thakur as Director General, Fire Services, Civil Defense and Home Guards. On Ram Navmi day Thakur was transferred to Civil Defense ministry from Gujarat DGP. He did not took charge against the appointment by government due to illness of his wife. Later, wife of PC Thakur died. Not government will find out a suitable place for Thakur to post.
