Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has refuted reports that his upcoming production “Udta Punjab”, which is based on issue of drug abuse in Punjab, has been banned by the censor board. There are reports that the Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor film has failed to get censor board’s approval due to excessive swearing and drug consumption.
Kashyap has said the board’s examining committee has forwarded the decision to revising committee and hence film is far from being banned.
For the record ,”Udta Punjab” is not banned. The examining committe has deferred the decision to Revising and due process is on.
