There a public interest litigation PIL was made in Gujarat High Court at Ahmedabad to enhance women’s security in the state. Today during a hearing on the PIL, HC has ordered important ruling to abolish old laws and form new laws protecting women’s welfare and other aspects wrt to women’s remand home. A seven member committee has been formed, where district magistrate will submit a report on women’s remand home. Next hearing will be held in June. Till 15th August Observers in all remand homes will have to appointed.
