In Ahmedabd, post directive from Gujarat High Court AMC Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has issued notices to highrise buildings about fire safety arrangements in the building. In West Zone of Ahmedabad TDO section has made 20 teams and sent 1000 notices.
It is a responsibility of Fire Department of AMC to check on safety arrangements in highrise buidlings. A PIL Public Interest Litigation was made in Gujarat High Court in this regard. Owing that HC had sought explaination from AMC on fire safety norms in highrise buildings.
AMC has taken stern actions on fire safety norms with highrise buidling, however some buildings either do not follow safety norms or have not obtained NOC from AMC authorities.
