Today Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel laid down the foundation stone for Irradiation Plant for Dry Sewage Sludge Hygienisation in Ahmedabad.
The Irradiation plant is a Joint venture between Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and Bhabha Atomic Research Center, project will give impetus to the ongoing Clean India movement. Gamma Radition will be used to hygeinise the sludge out of waste. Project will greatly benefit farmers as it will pave way for ‘Hygienised Enriched Fertilizer’ that will improve soil health and productivity with fertilizer as a bye-product. Besides benefitting farmers, this is first-of-its-kind initiative in India, a step towards protecting the environment and health of netizens.
Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner D Thara and Mayor Gautam Shah were present at the occasion among other dignitaries.
