Yesterday, Gujarat Congress emphasing Voting is a basic right of voters in democracy, joined Voter Awareness Program has informed that voters to confirm their details including their photograph and name in Voters List. To facilitate voters various provisions have been made to check the list either at Collector Office, Mamlatdar Office, Ahmedabad Municipality Ward Office, Regional Office. Verifying of voter details could be done duing Dec 05 to 20. There is a website ceo.gujarat.gov.in facilitating the voter details over internet to voters.
As a part of Voter List Modification 2016, there are provisions to get voter details through SMS and a facility of ‘1095’ number for this purpose has been setup.
Gujarat Congress has actively participated on Social Media by sending messages and stickers on voters awareness have been produced and circulated. They were not satisfied with performance of State Election Commission during recent Swaraj Polls in Gujarat. Gujarat Congress avoided EC meeting on voter list verification.
