Today in Gandhinagar, minister Saurabh Patel announced that Gujarat will be made a textile hub by the state government. After forming textile policy in 2012 after the units have been granted with aid. Last week, in a meeting of 31 textile units have been approved by the government.
Gujarat government will invest Rs 4,000 crores. With this Cotton growers, especially the spinning, weaving, processing, Knitting, readymade garments sectors are allowed and will be benefitted.
Mainly units from Ahmedabad, Surendranagar, Surat, Jamnagar and Rajkot districts are allowed. Gujarat government claims that only the textile policy has been successful and investments have been made in the state.
