Locker owner Jayesh Prajapati appeared before Police in dramatic way. Today Prajapati appeared by himself. He is being investigated by ACP and Crine Branch.
On Tuesday in Ahmedabad, on SG Highway multi crore robbery from locker of Jayesh Prajapati from Iskon Mega Mall took place. Crime branch based on application from the manager of safe deposit company and CCTV footage arrested Devansh Amin who is a stock trader with Rs 2 crore cash. Police charged Amin under domestic robbery which is punishable with jail term less than 7 years. In the investigation it has come out that he has done pre planned robbery.
In the Aditya Safe Deposit Vault at basement of Iskon Mega Mall, locker number 492 is owned by Jayesh Prajapti resident of Ronak Society , near Ramdevnagar,Satellite road. Somebody robbed important documents and cash with duplicate keys. Based on CCTV footage of locker room movement, one person suspiciously trying to open different lockers with keys and moving with a bag was found.
Locker Owner Jayeshbhai complained to Safe Deposit Manager, who in turn lodged complain with Crime Branch on 15th April and identified the suspicious person. He was Devansh Amin (24) resident of Purvi Tower, Opposite A One School on Gurukul Road in Memnagar area.
Police summoned Devansh and during investigation he admitted of lifting money from the locker in one month.
On asking by Crime Branch he returned cash of Rs 2 crore. During investigation it was also revealed that Devansh also had a locker in the mall, who break open 3 lockers with tools and duplicate keys, out of which 2 lockers were found empty and from one locker Rs 2 crore of Jayesh Prajapti was stolen.
In this incident as per Crime Branch ACP, MD Chaudhary, in domestic robbery case penalty is upto 7 years imprisonment and accused accepted the crime by returning cash so he has been give warned and released. As per sources it is also learnt that on pressure from builder Pravin Kotak and meeting with Police just based on simple application without any FIR Police was trying to wind up the case.
