Today, Elaben Bhatt of SEWA, Ahmedabad has been appointed as new Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith. Elaben will take over Naranbhai desai who is in ill health. She is already a member of Gujarat Vidyapith Trust.
Ela Ramesh Bhatt is an Indian cooperative organiser, activist and Gandhian, founder of the Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA) in 1972, and served as its general secretary from 1972 to 1996. Ela ben is winner of many renowned awards.
