Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed in a Pre-Budget speech in Lok Sabha. Highlights of PM speech is as follows:

- We shouldn’t indulge in speech making on the issue of communalism
- No matter what religion, everyone needs to join hands to fight poverty
- Money from coal auctions will go to the states, they will have more money than their budget:
- To make our Nation prosperous we will have to make the States prosperous
- I will publicly give credit to those who proposed the act, It’s just an effort to correct the mistakes
- Scope of develoment in the Northeast is immense. It can become organic capital. I am visiting the Northeast very often:

- We knew you were passing the bill in haste for political gains yet we stood by you. But did it take 120 yrs to find flaws in the law?
- In an era of co-operative federalism can we become arrogant? Should we not listen to the Chief Ministers of the States
- When we formed the Government, CMs of states (from all parties) told us, think about the farmer
- For 60 yrs farmers lived with the law that was made in 1894, if farmers suffered who is to be blamed?
- We knew you were hurrying passage of the bill for political gains yet we stood with you.But did it take 120 yrs to find flaws in the law
- There is lot of discussion on land acquisition. When the act was made we walked shoulder to shoulder with you
- There is a need of 4.5 lakh toilets in schools, out of which 1.5 lakh new toilets need to be built
- The process for making toilets for 60,000 to 65,000 girls is complete
- We announced Jan Dhan Yojana on 15th August, we completed the project well in time
- asserts that corruption-free system can be established, asks opposition to give suggestions and “guidance”
- Nobody having black money will be spared; We are not going to digress from this path; Don’t say we are vindictive
- It is the poor, the farmer, the tribal communities that are on my mind when I am travelling: in the Lok Sabha
- You may say is talking about small issues,but take note these smaller issues are the roots of today’s bigger problems
- Our retired Govt employees are supposed to give proof of their living for pension, can’t we change such systems?
- We brought in the system of self-attesation. Things may be small but they are things that inspire the trust of the people
- A Government is for the poor. Let us stop unnecessary expenditure so that money can reach the poor
- We believe in optimum utilisation of our infrastructure
- We must make our farmers understand that before harvesting crops from mother earth, we must also ensure if our land is in good condition
- Farmers should check the health of a land before they start farming, why dont we start soil testing labs everywhere?
- We talk a lot about farmers, but shouldn’t we find ways to address issues of farmers?
- “Per drop, more crop” is what we want to focus on
- Want to congratulate Arun Jaitley that he coordinated with Swiss banks and now we can get information from them
- Our first decision in our first Cabinet meeting was the decision on SIT on Black Money
- I believe corruption free services can be developed, everyone needs to work together to fight corruption
- The country was shocked when it found out it lost Rs 1.86 lakh crores in the coal scam
- If we all join hands and decide we will combat corruption together, our nation can be corruption free
- State must be policy driven. If the state is policy driven then grey areas are minimum
- Corruption has ruined the Nation and the Nation should not discuss it through a political prism
- My political sense says never end MNREGA, because MNREGA is a reminder of your (Congress) failure
- I don’t claim that whatever work has been done was done in 9 months only
- History is a witness, Congress never lost with such a margin
- This has been built by farmers, rishis, saints, munis, not the Govt. Its the public that form the nation.
- Governments come and go. Nation is made by the People, their strength and their Samarth
- I had said from the Red Fort, that this Nation has come ahead due to the efforts of every Government
