Today in Gandhinagar, ‘Gurjari2015’ Website was Launched by Saurabh Patel, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Mines Minerals, Cottage Industries, Tourism, Civil Aviation.
As a part of Gatisheel & Vibrant Gujarat as well as to boost the exports of exquisite handloom and handicraft products of Gujarat globally and to market them in various parts of the country, Department of Cottage & Rural Industries (IMD), Govt. of Gujarat under the leadership of Saurabh Patel, Hon’ble Minister for Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals, Mines Minerals, Cottage Industries, Tourism, Civil Aviation and the ableguidance of Tarachand Chheda, Hon’ble Minister of State for Cottage Industry, Salt Industry and Cow Breeding, is organizing ‘Gurjari 2015’, the 1st Edition of the International Buyer , Seller Meet for the Handloom & Handicraft Products of Gujarat from 27th February, 2015 to 1st March, 2015 at Ahmedabad. The event has been conceived and organized by Gujarat State Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd. (GSHHDC), which markets its handloom and handicraft products under the brand name of ‘GarviGurjari’. The event is being supported by the Commissioner of Cottage & Rural Industries and FICCI has been involved as the Co-organizer of the event.
A dedicated website for the event www.gurjari2015.in was launched by the Hon’ble Minister, Shaurabh Patel accompanied by D K Sharma, Managing Director, GSHHDC along with other officials of the Corporation & FICCI was present during this occasion.
While speaking on the occasion minister Patel informed about benefits of mega event.
The website provides details of the event, highlights of the meet and profile of the exhibitors to the interested stakeholders. The website shall also facilitate online registration of the buyers and sellers for the Meet.It shall also be a networking platform for the registered buyers and sellers. It will also facilitate pre-scheduling of B2B meetings between the Buyers and Sellers, which shall give an impetus to the growth of the handloom & handicraft sector of Gujarat.
Various products related to the crafts like Tangalia, Sujani, Patola, Bandhani, paintings, wood work, decorative articles originating from Gujarat by artisans can be purchased by domestic and international buyers from Europe, South East Asia, North America, Australia, New Zealand, Middle and Far East and Latin American Markets.
A 3 day mega event will be held where 150 exhibittors will display their products of Gujarat. It will include 100 international and 300 domestic buyers, will explore opportunities in Rs 2000 crore plus export market.
