India’s Asha Bhat has made Indians proud as she has won the Miss Supranational title 2014. She is the first Indian to win the title since its inception. Asha on winning the title for her and for her country said, “I am ecstatic. It’s an unbelievable feeling and I couldn’t feel more proud. I am happy to have won this title for my country. Now, I am just waiting to come back to my country and meet my family and friends who supported me throughout my journey,” she said in a statement.
The contest was held in Poland and around 70 beauties from across the globe took part in the contest. Asha looked gorgeous in Gavin Miguel’s designed gown and she was crowned by Miss Supranational 2013 Mutya Datul from Philippines. The winner won prime money of $25000. Earlier in the competition, Asha won the title of Miss Talent. She performed on Bollywood fusion, choreographer by Khush Numa Daruvalla on songs like ‘Kajrare’, ‘Yaar Na Mila’ and ‘Dhol Baaje’. Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta who had mentored Asha along with other contestants took to social networking site to congratulate Asha over her win.
