Recently, in Ahmedabad a Seminar was organised by KAMMA Inc. is international trade consultancy headed by Mr. Mignesh Parekh. KAMMA Inc is authorized to promote the education mission of Atlantic Canada visiting the state of Gujarat.
While interacting with media Mignesh Parekh informed that the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency (ACOA), with assistance from the International Centre, Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), Canada and international trade consultancy firm The KAMMA Inc. is organizing High Profile Education Mission from Atlantic Canada to Gujarat from September 22nd to September 25th 2014 in Ahmedabad.Objective of Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency is to create opportunities for economic growth in Atlantic Canada by helping businesses become more competitive, innovative and productive, by working with diverse communities to develop and diversify local economies, and by championing the strengths of Atlantic Canada.
During May 2013, KAMMA Inc. lead an education mission from Gujarat to Atlantic Canada in which 4 Gujarat based universities visited Canada. IN 2014, reverse education mission of Atlantic Canadian Universities is visiting Gujarat as an outcome of the previous year’s education mission of Gujarat to Canada.
Five delegates from three Universities of Atlantic Canada will be visiting to meet with universities and education institutions of Gujarat including Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN), St. Mary’s University (SMU) and University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI).
The objective of the mission is to strengthen links between Gujarat and Atlantic Canadian universities of higher education and vocational training. Priority will be to seek collaboration in education areas including Computer Engineering, Science, Management, Health, Liberal Arts and Economics. Opportunities for joint research, faculty & students exchange program, online training, establish education and business relationship will be explored.
During the mission Atlantic Canadian universities are meeting with 7 Gujarat based universities namely Gujarat Technological University, Gujarat University, Nirma University, Ganapt University, Pandit Dindayal Petroleum University, Charuast University and Indian Institute of Technology – Gandhinagar. MOUs with Universities of Gujarat is finalised.
For the first time the Canadian Universities delegation expressed that they would now motivate the young students in Canada to opt for higher and technological education from Gujarat. They gained confidence when they actually visited the universities like Gujarat University, Ganpat University, Nirma, GTU, IIT Gandhinagar etc and saw the facilities, curriculum, faculties and facilities. This should be a reversal of trend, where in foreign delegations lure students from India for further studies.
