After directive from Gujarat DGP Vikas Sahay list of all anti-social elements in the state to be made within 100 hours, different police stations have compiled 7,612 names, as per a statement from the Police Bhavan on yesterday.
The list of anti-social elements include 3,264 bootleggers, 516 accused booked for gambling, 2,149 accused involved in bodily crimes like physical assault, 958 persons involved in property-related crimes like encroachment, 179 accused involved in illegal mining and 545 people accused of other anti-social activities. The statement said that these people have been placed under police watch. The police has started probing into their illegal constructions or encroachments, illegal electric connections, and financial transactions related activities.
