The 61st Filmfare Awards took place at the showbiz capital Mumbai on January 16. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Bajirao Mastani not only got him appreciation from all over, but also made him win the Best Director award at the 61st Filmfare Awards. The flick that stars Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles was also given the title of the Best Film during the event.
Ranveer Singh has not only wooed audiences with his power-packed performance in Bajirao Mastani, but has also bagged him the Best Actor title at the 61st Filmfare Awards.Meanwhile, his flick’s leading lady Deepika Padukone grabbed the Best Actress award for her film Piku.
Priyanka Chopra, who was unable to attend the star-studded event because of her American series Quantico, won the award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in Bajirao Mastani. With this award Priyanka has become the first actress to win Filmfare in five categories. Anil Kapoor, on the other hand, won the same title for his flick Dil Dhadakne Do. Meanwhile, Neeraj Ghaywan was awarded with the title of Best Debut Director, while Sooraj Pancholi and Bhumi Pednekar won the awards for Best Debut for their movies Hero and Dum Laga Ke Haisha respectively.The 61st Filmfare Awards took place at the showbiz capital Mumbai on January 16.
