The Indian Paper and Paperboard Industry is one of the oldest organised Manufacturing industries in India. There are about 750 big and small mills in India. The Indian paper industry accounts for approximately 4% of the world’s production of paper. It is estimated that the industry turnover is approximately Rs.50,000 crore/year with a contribution of Rs.4,500 crore to the exchequer while providing employment to over 5 lakh people.
