In a very proud moment for Gujarat state and India, Gujarat achieves Guinness Record for performing mass ‘Surya Namaskar’ on new year day . Gujarat has made an impressive entry into the Guinness Book of World Records by orchestrating a remarkable demonstration of health and unity.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended and witnessed the mass Surya Namaskar program organized by Gujarat State Yoga Board on the morning of the first day of new year today with the message of ‘Challenge the disease with Surya Namaskar’. The event was held at various 108 locations in the state, including India’s first solar village Modhera, set a Guinness World Record today with 50,000 participants performing sun salutations simultaneously.
The Chief Minister Patel congratulated the whole of Gujarat, including the Surya Namaskar competitors, Gujarat State Yoga Board, Youth-Cultural Department, for setting the historic record in the name of Gujarat, the first world record of the country in the new year.
Gujarat sports minister Harsh Sanghavi, state officials and other dignitaries were present at the historic event.
