Coronavirus positive cases in Gujarat tally has gone to 241 said Dr Jayanti Ravi, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare at a morning press conference in Gandhinagar today morning.
Today Gujarat registers 55 new cases. This is highest number in a single day.
50 cases from 55 are from the hotspot Ahmedabad. Aggressive testing was started from yesterday. Total cases in the state surge to 241 from 189.55 new positive cases of COVID19 reported in Gujarat including 50 cases in Ahmedabad, 2 in Surat, 1 case each in Dahod, Anand and Chotta Udepur each. 52 cases found in a span of 12 hours is the highest to be reported in a single day, it majorly comes because of the results of the large-scale samples, which were taken on April 7 by AMC, came today.

In Vadodara, Case registered under sections 188, 269, 270 of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant acts against 7 persons for violating coronavirus lockdown rules. The 7 men were offering prayers at a local mosque during the lockdown.
Foodgrain supply to Gujarat doubled during the lockdown period as per FCI Food Corporation of India.
