Today in Gandhinagar, a team of Food and Drug department raided at mango vendors in 108 cold storage and seized a stock of 5.5 tonne of artificially ripened mango worth Rs 4.5 lakhs.
As per Food and Drug Officer, monthly 5679 kg of mango is ripened using calcium carbide, raid at 317 wholesalers, 49 mango vendors and 514 loose mango vendors were raided by the officials. 47 kg of calcium carbide was seized by officials.
