Today Gujarat Education Minister Jitu Vaghani said that under the guidance of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and in interest of youth of the state, Education Department has taken an important decision to start a new course of Diploma in Information and Communication Technology at 8 Government Polytechnics. This decision will help in realizing dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Digital India.
Among this 8 polytechnics are Government Polytechnic-Vadnagar, Dr. JN Mehta Polytechnic- Amreli, LE College (Diploma) – Morbi, AVPTI. Apart from Rajkot, Government Polytechnic- Palanpur, Government Polytechnic for girls Surat, Government Polytechnic- Gandhinagar and Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad for girls.
He further added that percentage of divyangs for recruitment in government jobs has been increased from 3% to 5%. Necessary administrative process related to recruitment of Academic / Primary Teacher posts has been completed. Now 1300 VidhyaSahayaks for Std. 1 to 8 and 3300 VidhyaSahayaks for Std. 6 to 8 will be recruited.
Students studying in state colleges are given Rs. Tablets worth Rs 20,000 are being provided by state government at a rate of only Rs 1,000. Its distribution is currently delayed. However, the quality of the tablets is being checked by EQDC. The inspection revealed a technical defect. The tablets which were found to be defective were sent back to the company and now about 50,000 quality tablets will be available soon which will be distributed to the students immediately.
