Sardar Sarovar Dam is considered to be a lifeline of Gujarat, water is being released from Sardar Sarovar Dam into Narmada Main Canal and 3 gates of Vasna Barrage are being opened 1 feet for release of water from the canal into Sabarmati River. More than 2900 cusecs of water is being released into Sabarmati river. There is no risk to low lying areas around Vasna Barrage however they are alerted to be cautious of water release.
