Amid heavy rainfall forecast by Meteorological Department, it has rained in 234 talukas in Gujarat today. Songadh of Tapi recorded the highest rainfall of 7 inches. However, heavy rain is still forecast for two days. Due to the heavy rains in the state, many places have been flooded. Villages along the river banks have also been alerted. Apart from this, more than 50 people have been rescued from Baleshwar village in Surat due to heavy rain. The rescue team has rescued the people as the waters of the creek receded.
Meteorological Department has announced yellow alert in 7 districts on Wednesday. Apart from this, Orange Alert has been announced in three districts of South Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain on August 17.
