10 lakh Bank employees on 2 days strike over salary hike issue

Today Banking operations in India were hampered with 10 lakh employees, mainly from PSU Public Sector Unit banks, went on 2 days strike to protest over issue of small salary hike offered by Indian Banks Association (IBA).

Strike was backed by employees of some old generation private sector banks and foreign banks, will continue tomorrow.

Banking transactions in private banks including ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank functioned normally
Major impact of strike was seen in Kerala, West Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand  compared to other states.
