Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India has given environmental clearance for Ropeway to mount Girnar on 9th September 2016, a very ambitious proejct in Gujarat. The contract has been given to Kolkata based Usha Breco limited for aerial passenger Ropeway to mount Junagadh.
Acually, it is a facility for pilgrims and mountaineers that Ropeway facility to mount Girnar is coming up. Ropeway facility will be very beneficial to aged pilgrims and visitors who wish to climb the mountain but need an infrastructure support.
Presently, trial of ropeway to mount Girnar is under progress. Ropeway to mount Girnar will soon be operational.
In Gujarat, ropeway facility is installed at Pavagadh which helps pilgrims to climb the mountain and cover distance ot 1000 steps.
