Kalki Koechlin says, “I rarely get nominated for awards”

From “Dev D” to “That Girl in Yellow Boots”, Kalki Koechlin has enthralled critics and fans with her histrionics but the actress wonders why doesn’t she get nominated for awards. Kalki has finally been nominated at the Times of India Film Awards 2016 in the best actress critic’s choice category for her performance in last year’s “Margarita with a Straw” and the 32-year-old said she found the nomination surprising. “I never expected a nomination as I rarely get nominated.

So yes, being nominated for TOIFA 2016 is a great surprise,” she said in a statement. In director Shonali Bose’s coming-of-age drama, Kalki played a girl with cerebral palsy. Kangana Ranaut (Tanu Weds Manu Returns), Anushka Sharma (NH10), Shweta Tripathi (Masaan) and Bhumi Pednekar (Dum Lagake Haisha) are the other names nominated in the category. TOIFA 2016 will take place at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai Sports City, Dubai on March 18.
